NSB Uncovered showcases the talents of users of the world’s largest and most successful Breaks community, NuSkoolBreaks.co.uk. Everyone involved in this exciting project is a member of this community, from the Producers themselves, to the DJ’s behind the mix, to the Artist and the Mastering Engineer. NSB has won multiple Breakspoll awards for Best Website and sister site nsbradio.co.uk has won the prestigious Best Radio award for the last two years and is the worlds largest and most popular online Breaks radio station. The main NSB site is a melting pot of ideas and discussion where many of the worlds top DJ’s and Producers can be found talking to fans. Promoters and anyone else that is looking to get involved in the exciting worldwide scene that is Breaks today.

The tracks where selected by a panel of Industry Experts from an amazing array of tracks submitted via the NSB forum. Once the 15 tracks for inclusion had been selected they were sent to Tarekith to ensure they sounded at their best and then on to UK West country Legends Ben & Lex for the DJ mix to be constructed.

With countless releases themselves, a successful label and many popular radio shows these larger than life characters took the tracks back into the studio to meld the tracks into the awesome mix that is presented to you today. As anyone who has seen Ben & Lex DJ will know they have a reputation as crowd pleasers for a reason. For years their sets have been known for their high energy, technically excellent style as well as their showmanship and personality. The mix brings this across in to mix itself so we can all experience their skills for ourselves.

The tracks themselves come from both new producers and established names alike and come from around the globe. A diverse range of styles from within the eclectic spectrum of Breaks are featured, so there is sure to be something for everyone in this fresh and exciting package. Offered with a package with the full length DJ mix and all the tracks for an outstanding price as well as all the tracks being available individually you can be sure that whether you are a new to Breaks or a stalwart of the scene this package is for you. Following is a brief write up of each track to wet your appetite ready for release:

01. Felix Stone ‘Vapor’

Felix is already causing quite a stir with his numerous releases and remixes, this progressive number shows us exactly why. Epic pads and a lush lead will have plenty of people’s hands rising towards the ceiling when they hear this one. Countless elements come and go as the tune progresses keeping the sound fresh, lively and highly musical throughout.

02. Curl & Dean ‘Shining Path’

With a release already to their name on Big Square records and more on the way Curl & Dean are another pair of producers to keep a close eye on. This track is one that will suit early doors or late night sets equally well, with its funky bassline and gradually evolving beats and patterns this is the kind of tune that suck you in and keeps you on board all the way through to it’s conclusion.

03. Dusty ‘Nothing To Fear’

Dusty is another new Producer being introduced to the World by NSB Uncovered but make no mistake this guys knows what he is doing. Using a cheeky vocal to great effect and intertwining swirling and swooping synths around it Dusty has created a tune with a great laid back vibe. This one will sound at home on a late night Dancefloor but is also a great track to listen to at home or in the car.

04. Finny ‘Space Cat’

This may be Finny’s 1st release but a lot of labels are already sitting up and taking notice so you can be sure it won’t be his last! Finny has a love for all things funky and that shines through in this track. The main hook of the track is some of the funkiest guitar you are likely to find which switches up nicely with some feel good synths. Party music at it’s very best this, sure to see plays from anyone into this end of the breakbeat sound.

05. Nu:Type ‘Descent’

A dark and moody track with bags of energy this debut track from London’s Nu:Type is going to go down a storm with those who like their beats and bass upfront and filthy. Reminiscent of a lot of the stuff from Passengers hey day this track is bound to see plays at any club where the crowd like things a bit darker than most.

06. Freeflow 45 ‘Tuff Unit’

Another artist who already has a number of successful releases behind them on Bombtraxx & iBreaks, Freeflow 45 turn in a stomper of a track for us here. The vocal hook is used to great effect throughout and the beats and bass jump up and smack you in the face just like you want them to. The main lead that bounces off the bass really take this into main room territory when it drops meaning this is another tune you should have in your box.

07. Mobius vs Mr Snook ‘Zion Movement’

Mobius are a Southampton pairing who have already had a string of successful releases on Re:Connect, Ape Music & Dusted Breaks, with plenty of big name support behind them these 2 are definitely ones to watch. Mr Snook is another up and coming Southampton producer who has recently had his 1st release on Broken Robot, which has received great feedback and is steadily climbing the charts. The tracks fuses strong Psy influences with some skanking riffs, tough beats and a pounding bassline to give us a track that will have many a peak time Dancefloor baying for more.

08. Section 4 ‘Push Through’

Another of Uncovered’s first timers this is a highly musical affair from the UK’s Section 4. Lush pads interweave beautifully with noodly synths giving this track an unusual level of depth and majesty. Influences, one suspects come from seminal artists such as Orbital, the powerful bassline ensure this track will work as well on the right Dancefloor as it will on a system at home.

09. Imperial Thrilla ‘Ya Dig’

Another 1st for NSB Uncovered sees Canada’s Imperial Thrilla lay down a track with all the right ingredients for an early doors beast. The bouncy bassline and tight drums get you locked in before the signature vocal announces the arrival of the hands in the air, floor filling lead that takes this track to the next level.

10. Emeyda ‘Now Crew’

This London based producer is well known already for his Radio show on the notorious Point Blank FM. He also runs the new and highly promising Embeats label. This track nods its head firmly towards the Old Skool but with tough New Skool beats and production techniques. Another peak time banger this will leave plenty of old Raver’s with a massive smile on their face.

11. RuN RiOT ‘Ace’

These boys have been causing a bit of a stir already with their remixes and releases and it’s easy to see why. Aimed squarely at the Dancefloor this track fuses tough beats and filthy bass with a disgustingly catchy hook ensuring this is another RuN RiOT tune that is bound to please fans and new listeners alike.

12. Erratech ‘Gorilla’

Another of the fledgling Producers being bought to the limelight through NSB Uncovered this track has more than it’s fair share of funk. A superb and original beat underpin this early doors floor filler, tight production and some wicked edits and fx ensure it’s one that will keep people on the floor once it’s hooked them in as well.

13. Mjoogoo ‘The Favorite Show’

With his 1st release recently out on Vatican House this NSB legend is another one to watch. Well known around the UK already for his larger than life personality and love for Hawaiian shirts this track is a heads down stomper that will leave many a Raver in pools of sweat on the dance floor. Tight beats underpin the building bass and relentless pace of this banger.

14. T.R.O. ‘Urban Myth’

Germany’s TRO already has a number of releases out and it’s easy to see why. A catchy and addictive synth lead this one into the break before a driving and evolving bass take over and drive the track forwards, A diverse range of influences can be heard in the track and this diversity ensures the track sounds fresh and original all the way through.

15. Teknic B ‘The Next Psycho’

If you love your beats and bass filthy you are not going to be disappointed with Teknik B’s contribution to the NSB Uncovered project. The Bass drives this one along relentlessly and is underpinned by some Ragga style vocals and excellent use of FX and synths ensuring this one will see plays from many wanting one to drive that Dancefloor crazy.
