Benjamin Vial

Benjamin Vial

Benjamin Vial is 17 when he buys his first drum-machine in 1989 and starts programming electronic tracks; he never stopped since then.
He sometimes sings, too.

A demo under the Temper guise in 2003 owes him a review in French magazine Trax, which depicts his music as a blend of Freq Nasty, William Orbit, Vikter Duplaix , Bomb The Bass and Peter Kruder So, a mixture of breaks, electronic a and downtempo. He will make live performances confronting “traditional” instruments with machines.

His debut 5-track-EP “Radioaddictive” , more radical, is released on the German net-label Electroreptil in 2006. In 2007, he signs on Dirk Technic (aka PMT)’s new Scenik Route label for 2 EPs and works with Jason Sparks for his new Contrabass label, sub-imprint of Botchit & Scarper. In 2008, he signs on Miles Dyson’s own Plasmapool for several EPs.

He also hosts a 2-hour radio show on Brap FM twice a month.

Played by the likes of Überzone, Ben & Lex or Introspective, but also by Da Fresh or Kolombo [a], his tracks can be linked today to the tech-funk as defined by Elite Force or Meat Katie , a blend of techno, house and breaks.
